Beautiful Square Sparrow Greeting Card

House sparrows never migrate, but they do make a small journey of their own. Every late summer, flocks leave the towns and drift out to the countryside, following the scent of ripening grain.

This little sparrow was photographed in a Pembrokeshire garden, in a place of quiet contrasts: a waterway alive with wildlife on one side, an oil refinery on the other. And yet, in the middle of it all, there was peace. A small, ordinary bird, stoping for a feed.
